Choosing Colors for Data Visualization

Going through the bookmarks that have accumulated over the last months without further processing on my part, I stumbled upon this article where Maureen Stone summarizes a few key ideas about choosing colors for representing data visually. It’s a year old but the principles it teaches are timeless:-)

    I liked Maureen Stone’s article: practical help for a more professional presentation for people who work with data but are not graphic designers. (My guess is that numeracy and design skills are fairly orthogonal.)

    It’s a shame that Excel, where most charts seem to be produced, offers such a limited range of colours.
